Marketers Hunt for Ways to Score Attention Online.

As Congress hammers out details of what is intended to be the first national anti-spam law, marketers are scrambling to find new ways to get messages across. They are trying new pitches via promotions. KMGi.com, a producer of TV-style ads for the web, is offering free anti-spam software to consumers who watch a 30-second spot before the software is installed. “It is a small trade-off for valuable software”, says KMGi.com CEO Alex Konanykhin. Canon Business Solutions is among the advertisers.
